You can expect to catch a varity of fish in Bermuda’s waters; such as Blue & White Marlin, Wahoo, Yellowfin Tuna, Blackfin Tuna, Dolphin, Barracuda and numerous other species of fish.

Can I fish all year round in Bermuda?

A.

Yes. You can fish all year round in Bermuda’s waters weather permitting. January to March is considered the off season, but it is not uncommon to have some rewarding fishing runs of Wahoo and Yellowfin Tuna. Some of the best fishing in the world can be found in Bermuda’s waters. Have a look at our ‘Fish & Season’ page for more information regarding the best fishing season for each species of fish.

Are you and your crew experienced fishermen?

Our Captain Peter Olander and his team Hans Olander and Kevin Walsh have over 80 years of combined experience boating and fishing both in Bermuda’s waters and internationally.

Captain Peter Olander had his first encounter with a Blue Marlin in 1953. He obtained a Bermuda Government pilot's license and engine driver’s license in 1961. He also holds a US Coast Guard Unlimited Masters License (1975) and served as a ship master for 28 years. Having owned and operated a charter boat in Bermuda since 1987 captain Peter Olander retired in 2003 to become a full time fisherman.

Hans Olander who is Peter Olander’s son has been fishing with his father as both crew and captain for the past 25 years.

Kevin Walsh has worked as crew for Albatross Charters for 20 years.

Tell me about your charter fishing boat Albatross V?

A.

The Albatross V is a custom, 1995, 35 foot Henriques Maine Coaster Sport fisherman, built by Henriques boatworks in Bayville, New Jersey. These tough, seaworthy boats were designed primarily for fishing the off shore canyons of New York and New Jersey. They are renowned for their fish-raising ability.

Albatross V was further customized by us to suit the Bermuda fishing environment. The boat is outfitted with the finest gear, fishing tackle and electronics available in the world. Our albatross V is roomy, comfortable, with an air conditioned cabin and a spacious enclosed flying bridge. Our 120 square foot cockpit contains an unlimited Lee fighting chair and full cockpit controls. Our boat is also fitted with a bow thruster.

How many people can I bring on the fishing charter and how much does a charter cost?

A.

All trips are based on a maximum of 6 people. The ideal fishing charter we recommend is 4 persons. A deposit of $500.00 is required and refundable in case of a small craft warning or 48 hours cancellation. We do give a 5% off discount for multiple bookings and IGFA members.

1/2 Day Trip $850.00

3/4 Day Trip (7 hours) $1,000.00

Full Day Trip $1,200.00

Marlin Fishing - 9 hours $1,300.00

Tournament Fishing - $1,400.00 per day of tournament (licensed for 6 people)

What can I expect from a fishing charter experience with Albatross Charters?

A.

We welcome our charter guests aboard the Albatross V at our primary pickup point Ordnance Island St. George’s. We will give you a tour of the boat, safety equipment as well as giving you the rules of the boat. Complimentary beverages of soda and water will be provided. We can also customize your fishing trip by providing lunch to order upon request. Once everyone is onboard we will head towards the fishing grounds; which is within 20 to 30 minutes from St. George’s. We hope you book a charter and enjoy your time out on the water with Albatross Charters.

We do recommend that you bring the following items:
